SO PHONEY- IS THIS LOVE????

She needed him real bad. She needed to hear his voice- that reassuring, bright and breezy baritone. He stood right there; his bright eyes flickered with a barren expression. It looked like he was hiding every darn feeling inside. She wanted to shake him out of that dreamless look.
‘Maybe I’ve used him beyond his limits and pushed the envelope too far this time,’ she pondered.

Flashback:
She loved punching and poking him in his abs. He made those tiny little noises that made her crazy.
Sometimes, when she punched him so hard and fast, he’d carelessly say,
‘Don’t play games with me sweetheart, you shall pay. Revenge is sweet, but she would keep playing with him and retort, ‘Be happy. I’m not like a lot of other women today. They usually don’t punch with the hand. They are so dominant they do the same in riotous style- they hold the men in their control with a stick in hand!’
He was a quicksilver maverick- intelligent, witty, nice, yet full of spice. In fact, because of him being a full-on techie loaded with a potpourri of snaky charms, she fell for his bait.
In the end, each and every time, she not only fell for his bait, but for him.Truly.Madly. Deeply.
She fell for him so bad that she wanted to get closer to him than anyone else possibly could. Like a little girl on the beach would hear the waves of the sea sing its soothing tunes thrugh the shell near her ear, she wanted to listen to every heart beat of his.
'Lub Dub!'Lub Dub!' she heard his innermost self- his racy heart beat, as she put a stolen stethoscope onto him. Listening to his innermost pulse gave her an inexplicable, deep sense of relief, and him, a feeling of throbbing love and completedness.
Sometimes, in the middle of a busy day, she would suddenly see him, and he would say mushy stuff like ‘I love you’ or ‘I miss you’. At other times, he would jus flash his eyes a few times, and then go silent, conveying, ‘Hey, Do go about your work. Just remember I’m always here for you.’
He was a keen observer; he absorbed things around him incisively and intuitively. In fact, she liked to see the world through his eyes. They never failed her. She kept a diary that stored a lot of her stuff. He liked to call it crap, ‘Sugarplum, That is some serious crappy paraphernalia which I keep giving you. I can’t believe you store it.’
‘Shut up, they are beautiful, colorful, and full-of-life. They remind me of all the good times we’ve had.’
Right now, even though she punched him with all her love, he didn’t respond. He didn’t look away either. Probably, he wanted to speak to her- she got a niggling sense of that. Those lovely, big, sad eyes, just kept staring back at her. They blinked and flashed without uttering a single word, like an SOS from a sinking Titanic. Only, she needed a way to get around that damn iceberg, whatever it was.

She wasn’t able to talk to anyone, only because he wasn’t even responding to her. He was like a lump of morass clinging to the bosom of her palm. He didn’t want to go away.
If she lost him right here and now, she would never be able to trace him again, because he wouldn’t be reachable.

She paused and reflected. He had always been with her. Even now, when he didn’t talk to her, he stood by her. It was her fault- she just had to recharge his energy from time to time.
That’s it! -She knew how to get him back into her life- she just had to recharge and refuel his spirits.

She went up to ATM, withdrew Rs.3800, went up to the Hutch Kiosk and paid in her overdue bill amount of Rs.3798 for the month of May.
20 minutes later, HE- Her loveable ‘Nokia phone’ rang out loud with love, in its characteristic, baritone ring tone. It was back- she could make and receive calls as usual. Her incoming and outgoing had been barred for a day, and it had almost killed her. Now, her world was the same again. Gloriously yet again!

The next time, all she had to do so as not to lose him was pay her bill on time.

This happened yesterday, when I didn’t pay my bill, all of 3800 bucks! This is exactly how I felt without my mobile- ispired me to write this piece!
